Who am I?
My name is Will and I am a car enthusiast. I’ve been around cars my entire life. My beginnings of the gear head-ism was from my Grand Father Tom and my Father Bill. My Grand Father worked in the Autobody field for 25+ years. So by age 5 I was already holding grinders and DA sanders fiddling with tools as a helper. My Father built performance engines as a hobby which gave me the in depth mechanical performance portion of cars. My first car is a 1986 Chevy Camaro which I still own to this day. Its a constant work in progress which has changed over the years. I was going to work in the automotive field but could never get in due to various circumstances and cost of schooling. I began personally studying automotive theory and attempted to go for my ASE for Automotive Technician. I attempted the brake portion just from reading the theory books and failed the test by 1 question. It proved to me that having all the book knowledge doesn’t make you a better tech. I work on all my personal vehicles minor to major repairs if needed unless it exceeds my limits such as manufacturer recalls or a very specialized expensive tool. I am a Railroader by day (Locomotive Engineer) and Detailer by night. No job is too big or too small its about adapting to the situation or finding a solution. Every car I work on I view as my personal car and wouldn’t use or do anything I wouldn’t do to my own vehicles for personal gain.
